First-Ever Dedicated AI & Quantum Pavilion at Fiber Connect 2027
Today FBA announced its AI & Quantum Infrastructure Pavilion at Fiber Connect 2027, a new dedicated destination bringing together the fiber ecosystem with the companies building the next generation of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and data center infrastructure.
Fiber Connect 2027 (June 13-16, in Nashville) will bring together more than 5,000 fiber and digital infrastructure professionals. The expanded AI and quantum focus will complement the conference’s extensive FTTH programming, giving broadband operators continued access to content focused on deployment, operations, funding, market growth, and the challenges shaping fiber builds today.

Live Proof of Concept Demonstrations: Attendees will get a closer look at emerging technologies and concepts in action, moving the conversation beyond theory to real-world applications.
Dedicated AI and Infrastructure Programming: Pavillion programming will explore neoclouds, agentic AI, the AI edge, hyperscale-ready infrastructure, and the fiber required to support the continued AI and quantum growth.
For the last several years, state broadband offices have been focused on one thing primarily: getting major federal broadband programs planned, approved, and moving. But eventually, those grants will wind down, and the question becomes what happens to the offices, expertise, and relationships built around them when they do.
This week’s Fiber for Breakfast focused on that next phase. Gary sat down with Revati Prasad, Executive Director of the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, to discuss new research with state broadband offices and smaller, regional ISPs about what BEAD implementation has actually looked like and what may be left when the current wave of funding is over.

Senate Agriculture Committee Advances Farm Bill 2.0
FBA released the following statement yesterday after the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry advanced the Agricultural Act of 2026, or Farm Bill 2.0:
“The Fiber Broadband Association applauds Chairman John Boozman and the Senate Agriculture Committee for advancing Farm Bill 2.0 and recognizing that reliable, high-capacity broadband is essential to the future of rural America.
“The bill’s provisions to codify the USDA ReConnect Program, streamline the application process, and provide greater certainty for broadband investment will help extend future-ready infrastructure to some of the nation’s hardest-to-serve communities.
“From precision agriculture and artificial intelligence to telehealth, advanced manufacturing, and small business growth, rural communities need fiber networks capable of supporting the technologies of today and the opportunities of tomorrow. FBA urges the full Senate to build on the committee’s progress and looks forward to working with Congress to move a final Farm Bill across the finish line.”
